Short, because we collect very little.
This site is published by Perikee Labs LLC, which is the controller of any personal data described below.
What we collect
We set no cookies, and nothing here identifies you or follows you to other sites.
The site is served by Cloudflare, and two things follow from that. Cloudflare keeps standard request logs — IP address, time, page requested, browser user-agent — used to serve the site and detect abuse. And every page loads Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits and page views. It sets no cookie, stores nothing on your device, and does not build a profile of you or track you across other sites; we see totals, not people.
If Cloudflare’s bot protection is enabled here, its security cookie
(__cf_bm) may be set. It is strictly necessary — it distinguishes automated traffic
from people — and is not used for advertising.
There is no account to create and we take no advertising, so there is no ad network here to receive anything about you.
Why we are allowed to
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: keeping the site available, defending it from abuse, and knowing in aggregate how many people read it. We judged this to have minimal privacy impact because the analytics are cookieless and anonymous, and no profile of any reader is created. If you disagree, you can object using the contact address below.
How long, and where
Cloudflare retains request logs for a short period — days, not years — and analytics as aggregate counts with no record of individual visitors. Email we keep for as long as the correspondence is useful, and any correction request permanently, because a record of what we were asked to fix is part of the archive’s integrity.
Cloudflare operates globally, so processing may occur outside the UK and EEA under the safeguards in their data processing terms.
Outbound links
Links to retailers are plain links. No affiliate network is involved, nothing redirects through us, and we add no tracking parameters. Following one takes you to the retailer’s own site, where their cookies and their privacy policy apply, not ours.
If you write to us we keep the message so we can reply and so we have a record of any correction we were asked to make. We do not add correspondents to a mailing list. There is no mailing list.
What we collect from retailers
Our crawler records product prices only. It collects no personal data, creates no accounts, and accesses nothing requiring a login. How it behaves.
Your rights
If you are in the UK, EU or California you have rights to access, correct, delete or object to our use of personal data we hold about you. In practice we are unlikely to hold any beyond an email you sent us and the request logs Cloudflare keeps. Write to contact@discountverdict.com and we will respond.
You can also complain to a regulator — in the UK the Information Commissioner’s Office, or your national supervisory authority in the EEA.
Changes
If we ever add affiliate links, a mailing list, or anything else that collects more than this page describes, this page changes first and the change is dated. We will not quietly broaden what we collect.
